Temperature Excursions

A temperature excursion is any temperature reading outside the recommended range in the EUA Fact Sheet or vaccine package insert. 

Temperature excursions require immediate action.

• Return the vaccine to the appropriate storage temperature as soon as possible.  
• Label affected vaccines “DO NOT USE.”
• Complete the Vaccine Storage Troubleshooting Record.
• Immediately contact the manufacture's customer service and/or the immunization program.
  • Follow the manufacturer's guidance. Do NOT discard the vaccines unless directed to do so by the manufacturer.
