About Messenger RNA (mRNA) Vaccines
mRNA vaccines teach cells how to make a protein that is unique to the SARS-CoV2 virus
This protein then triggers an immune response to produce antibodies that protect against the SARS-CoV2 virus
After our cells make copies of the protein, they destroy mRNA from the vaccine
mRNA never enters the nucleus of the cell, which is where our DNA is kept
mRNA vaccines:
- Do not change or interact with the recipient’s DNA in any way
- Do not use the live virus that causes COVID-19 disease
- Cannot give the recipient COVID-19 disease
