TARGET AUDIENCE:
Immunization Providers (Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physician’s Assistants, DoD Paraprofessionals, Medical Students, etc.)
PREREQUISITES:
Participants should have a basic educational background in science including general knowledge in the subject areas of biology, immunization and vaccine-preventable diseases.
FORMAT:
These seminars are enduring materials available in DVD and web-on-demand formats.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This DVD and web-on-demand product is is a recording of CDC’s live annual update broadcast and webcast, which covers the most recent and significant developments in the rapidly changing field of immunization. Anticipated topics include influenza, meningococcal, zoster, tdap, and human papillomavirus vaccines. Other emerging issues will be discussed, including the latest information from the June 2011 meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to accomplish the following:
List two recent immunization recommendations made by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
Describe two emerging immunization issues.
Locate resources relevant to current immunization practice.
Obtain, assess and apply patient information to determine the need for immunization.
