Considerations for People with Moderate or Severe
Immune Compromise
People with certain immunocompromising conditions, and people who take immunosuppressive medications or therapies, are at increased risk for severe COVID-19 (e.g., requiring hospital admission, ICU admission, or mechanical ventilation or dying).
Because the immune response following COVID-19 vaccination may differ in people who are moderately or severely immunocompromised, specific guidance is provided regarding number of doses, timing, and the need for revaccination.
People can self-attest to their moderately or severely immunocompromised status and receive COVID-19 vaccine doses wherever vaccines are offered. Vaccinators should not deny COVID-19 vaccination to a person due to lack of documentation.
