Project Management Guide

This web page is archived for historical purposes and is no longer being updated. Please go to CDC Home or use the A-Z Index or Search for more recent information.

The CDC UP Project Management Guide (PMG) provides guidance and advice to Project Managers throughout the life cycle of a project in the form of a step-by-step best practice approach to managing projects within the CDC and in-line with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) Framework, Federal and CDC regulations, standards, policies, and requirements.

To what level of detail any one section of the PMG is applied to any particular project is ultimately at the discretion of the project manager who is ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of project results. However, the overarching themes, practices, and processes outlined within the PMG are good, fundamental, project management practice that is applicable to all projects (CDC, non-CDC, IT, non-IT, large, and small).
